You can read about Scouting all over the web, but the best way to experience
it is to meet our Pack. You can join us for Join Scouting Night
or come and meet us at any meeting.
When do you meet?
Wednesdays at 6:15 PM at Young Israel of Hollywood-Fort Lauderdale
What happens when my child is in Scouts BSA
They meet across the hall a little later. It's a natural and smooth transition. In
4th grade, Webelos Scouts start working with the Scouts BSA Troops, and 5th Grade they work with
them on completing their Arrow of Light before "crossing over" to the Troops.
Tradition of Excellence
We are an elite program that teaches scouting skills in a fun and rewarding
way. There is no stress to perform, but through hard work and team work, we all advance
together, we compete in camporees together, and we have fun doing it.
From Lions to Eagle
Our Elementary School Cub Scouts start on the Bobcat Trail, and over the
years learn more and more, until completing their Arrow of Light in 5th grade.
At that point they are ready for Scouts. With many Scout skills already mastered,
the path to Eagle is about learning to work in a Patrol and perform service to the community.
Pack 18 was recognized by BSA National as a "Gold" Pack in 2018, the highest level on the Journey to Excellence.
Cubmaster, Jon Garber, is in his second year as Cubmaster. Prior to that, he was a Den Leader for 3 years and an assistant Cubmaster for one.
Recognized by the South Florida Council and Seminole District
for his excellence, Jon Garber is a recipient of the golden sparkplug award.
Den Leaders Katie Jay-Gordon and Bennett Jay-Gordon manage the younger Dens. In addition to their accomplished
professional careers, they are fully trained Scouters.
Alex Hochberger is in his 3rd year as Committee Chair, has also served 3 years as Cubmaster and a year
transitioning to Jon Garber as the new Cubmaster.
